KS 48V-DC DC Generator

The famous French magazine Bricolage Batiment Industrie (BBI) featured in its edition the gasoline-powered DC generator Könner & Söhnen KS 48V-DC.

The gasoline-powered DC generator Könner & Söhnen KS 48V-DC is designed to charge batteries ranging from 48 to 54 V, commonly found in industrial, solar, wind, telecommunication systems, uninterruptible power supplies, etc., which use high-capacity accumulators. Very easy to install – it connects directly to the battery – it provides DC current. It thus has a higher efficiency coefficient than AC power stations, which are forced to convert current, resulting in a reduction of charging time by half and therefore lower fuel consumption.

This generator is equipped with an automatic start system, along with a voltage controller, which begins charging with 70 A of current when the battery drops below 48 V. This start occurs without external intervention, using energy captured from the battery, and charging stops when the battery voltage reaches 53.5 V (or when the charge power, inversely proportional to the detected voltage, drops to 20 A). During charging, an integrated device automatically regulates the motor speed, fuel supply, output voltage, and current.

In addition to the automatic start, the generator can be controlled using an external controller, such as a programmable inverter for solar or wind stations, and features electric start in the form of a 3-in-1 handle, which serves as a fuel valve, air throttle, and start button.
